Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church

Music Ministry

While recognizing that everyone's taste is different, our music ministry seeks to blend contemporary and traditional worship styles, in order to minister to each one who attends. It is important that everyone can identify with the worship of the church in some way. For this reason we emphasize contemporary praise and worship music, while blending traditional, spontaneous Pentecostal worship with a well planned and balanced program, which includes hymns, special singing (contemporary and southern gospel), choir specials, and a vigorous preaching of the Word of God that tends toward an expository style.

Sunday nights is designed for more of a prayer emphasis. Our services are less formal, emphasize prayer and tend to use more traditional gospel music, hymns and less contemporary praise and worship. The preaching on Sunday nights is more devotional, designed to encourage the church, and call the saints of God to serious prayer and commitment. We believe that on Sunday nights in particular we have an opportunity for unhurried, quiet reflection and prayer at the altar, and the opportunity to respond to the leading, conviction and Word of God.
