Youth Ministry

Youth Ministries is a title given to a range of ministries to our young people from the very youngest ages up to young adults preparing to leave high school. Youth ministries sponsors children's church which meets during the preaching every Sunday morning for their sermon. On the last Sunday of each month we have Family Sunday, when the children are invited to remain in the sanctuary for the entire service. This is designed to train the children for the sanctuary services as they get older. Children's Church is broken down into two age groups, approximately 2-5 years old and 6-10 years old. A nursery is provided for our children up to two years old on Sunday morning and Sunday nights. Every two months the pastor preaches a youth sermon, using video clips to make the preaching a little more memorable, and on the fifth Sunday morning of a given month, the pastor will preach a children's sermon, usually an object lesson of some sort or another!

On Wednesday the young people either meet for special Bible study classes according to age, or are involved in Royal Rangers (boy's ministry), Missionettes (girl's ministry) or Friends/Coffee talk (alternating teen girl ministries). Every fifth Wednesday is activity night and all of the classes have a joint meeting and special time of fellowship. Logan and Sara Tudor, a recently married young couple, are our youth ministries directors working with the CEM department to provide devotional and fellowship ministries for all of the young people in areas not listed above. Currently, Logan is heading up an informal and low-key board-sports ministry and devotional program, designed to develop the character of young men in the church. This ministry is called Red Letters. He is assisted by Jeremy Heltsley. Sara is currently developing similar ministries for the girls, and is leader of Coffee Talk, a teen girl ministry designed to develop Christian character in our young women through accountability, devotion to God and fellowship.
